About MAYE
MAYE began with a small idea: that a woman in Lagos should be able to buy clothes made near her, by people paid fairly, that last more than a season.
We are a ready-to-wear label working out of a studio on Lagos Island. Everything we sell is cut and finished here, in small runs, from fabrics chosen for the way they move and the way they hold up to the heat, linen, cotton, raw silk, in a quiet palette that suits the light.
We do not chase trends or drop a hundred styles a season. We release a short collection a few times a year, and we keep making the pieces that work. If your size sells out, we will cut it for you.
The name is a family one. It is a reminder to make things we would be proud to hand down.
Cut, sewn and finished in our own studio, not shipped in and relabelled.
Short collections, made to order when we can, so little is wasted.
A small team, paid properly, working in daylight and treated well.
“Clothes are better chosen in person. Book a fitting and visit the studio.”
